Aftermath

Aftermath

A Poem by Richard Guimond
"

The morning after the battle

"

Aftermath[1]

Life-force flowing in red spring rivulets

Spectral fog over silenced battlefield

Weapons gathering scavenging mission

Stripped bodies anonymous heap

Collective morning open funeral pyre

Battle won, battle lost by fallen warriors
