Dream Surfer

Dream Surfer

A Poem by Richard Guimond
"

Surfing your dreams away

"

Dream Surfer[1]

In the early hours, a sun was rising

Over a calm eastern ocean

The Sea Of Hopes and Dreams

A magnificent wave you were

That lifted my heart made it fly

Dream Surfer was I, then wiped out

Like so many times since, again and again

Sometime riding the crest of joy

Most likely hitting a wall of tears

And crushed by the Hand of Fate

Now stranded on a western beach

Witness of an accelerating sunset

Over Occidental Waters of Bitters Regrets

Filled by the cruel understanding

That every illusions, every waves

Must end on the Shores of Reality

I went from reading of a surfers best wave to a view of life. Nothing wrong with that. Good imagery.
