Faery goes to sleepA Poem by Richard GuimondWhen morninglights come Faery goes to sleepFaery goes to sleep[1] Sunny and windy outside Where light green dressed tree Dances in the early sunlight.... Long limbs post puberty handsome elves Giggling just outside me window.... ....and of the faeries, tell me...? Happy Lorelei with sun rays clipped in her hairs.... Dressed in May leaves still translucent in early June Morning dew like pearls strung on spider web around her delicate long neck Crystalline laughter reserved to poets And seers riding bird songs Long harpist fingers closing doors of the Faery nursery While singing lullaby to the fairy hatchlings Wrapped in sleep for the day to come ... So the water nymphs slowly sinking, Melting in their watery beds... Faery lights extinguished one by one, Washed away by the rising daylight.... Magic goes asleep While humans wipe the sand out of their eyes......
