Hierogamos

Hierogamos

A Poem by Richard Guimond
"

The holy Union of Mother Eath and the Sun,

"

Hierogamos[1]

In late Fall, on a bed of dead leaves

Gaia, wet her lips, and opens them,

To her celestial husband's caresses

Now in her winter frozen womb

Lay a diamond egg of slow gestation

Hope for Spring, the Return of all Life
