Incestuous Sex

Incestuous Sex

A Poem by Richard Bachman
"

The poem describes the obsessive fantasies I have about how I wish my life were, I guess. And often a lot of people dream about what they could have, but we all can't.

"

Bone and brick

Pick up a stick,

(When easy is not so easily fixed)

And hit me in the head

Knock me unconscious,

And I will drift away

Dreaming of

My castles and far off perfect places

While the rest

Of my fantasies, fight over me

Tooth and nail (because it will all be perfect, one day)

Until one will win, shouting,

“No, you are not useless.”

But I must say,

No matter how hard I try,

I still have difficulties

 Because the real problem

When dealing with depression

Is knowing that

No matter what I do,

My accomplishments

Will end in my own fatality

And depression will

Lay itself on top of itself

And begin

To multiply,

Continuing the

Incestuous cycle (there is no point).

I to work on this poem. The stanzas are mix-matched, and I'm not sure that last six stanzas mean what I meant them to mean: there is no trying with depression.
