I Know.

I Know.

A Poem by RibhyMay
"

For a friend who should never give up.

"

I know that you want to run.

I know that the day that it happened, your whole world fell apart.

I know that you can still feel everything.

I know how much it hurts,

I know how much you want to scream, and shout,

I know that you think you can escape this.

You know that you can't.

I know that some days are impossible.

I know that you think you can still hear her.

I know how much you want to hide.

I know that when your body betrays you, you wish for it all to end.

I know the story, the memories and yet nothing at all.

I just know.

You know that I used to run.

You know that the day that it happened my whole world fell apart.

You know that I can still feel everything.

You know how much it hurts,

You know how much I scream and shout,

You know that I didn't escape this.

You secretly know.

But I know that running takes much more energy than standing still,

And I know what these things can do to a person,

But you have to know that running doesn't solve anything,

And I know that you know that I know this.

You know that some days are impossible.

You know that I think I can still hear her.

You know how much I want to hide.

You know that when my body betrays me, I wish for it all to end.

You know the story, the memories and yet nothing at all.

You will just have to learn

And then you will know.

'And I know that you know I know this',.

What a tongue-twister that is!

I like the pace and rhythm of the poem.
I like the repetition and refrain, and how the title was creatively used,
and yet flowing together with the theme of the poem.

It's a lovely poem of sympathy and encouragement.

WELL DONE

This is heartfelt but tiring to read. If there was another way of doing it without the repetitions I think this would benefit from it.
