Graded.A Poem by RibhyMayA rant about the education system in the form of a poem.I am not a single letter stamped in boring black ink, I am not a single letter, I am smarter than you think, Because this single little letter tells you nothing about me, This single little letter simply says; B. I am not a single letter, I want to make some noise, For everybody like me, from the girls to the boys, Who have been silenced, shushed, brushed aside and shut out, When all they want to do is scream and shout. I am not a single letter, not that you would care, As you watch me from your pedestal, as I sigh and stare, Looking out the window, trying to calm my racing head, But enough about me, let's talk about you instead. I am not a single letter, but an observer you see, I can look at you and suss you out, and oh you watch me, As I pick apart your life from the darting of your eyes, Poking and prodding, ripping back your disguise. I am not a single letter, but I am incredibly smart, Working you out from your head to your heart, Finding out more about you than you would ever care to know, As you sit oblivious, as my mind begins to grow. I am not a single a letter, I am a writer you see, And with the power of words I can being you to your knees, Just because I refuse to fall back into place, Does not make me stupid, I am not a disgrace. I am not a single letter stamped in boring black ink, I am not a single letter, I am smarter than you think, Because this single little letter tells you nothing about me, This single little letter simply says; B. © 2016 RibhyMay |
