Shy Girl

Shy Girl

A Poem by Meghan Atziri
"

the sad song of an abused little girl.

"
Once upon, everyday, a little girl is hit and abused.
She didn't do anything wrong so her head stays lost and confused.
Mama pulls back, and Pa pushes forth, he punches so hard that my face starts to morph.
He strangles me so sincerely, puts my hair up so dearly...
An eye for an eye is what I've been told, so I hit back, until his wrath unfolds.
There is rage in his eyes and blood in my throat. He throws me aside, and pulls on his coat.
My last vision was foggy from blood loss and tears. What has happened throughout these past years?
Daddy got stoopid, and mommy got young. I wanted it to stop, but had to hold my tongue.
So the story goes on, and my life's nearly gone, I hope for the best as I begin my new rest.
