Franklin's Farm

Franklin's Farm

A Poem by Vria P Crow

"We have gotten stale, my precious ones..."

Franklin's Farm
To the Tutor

Franklin was a humble manboy
from the outback of Troy;
harvesting crops by day-
fathering children
in the bales of hay.

Children have grown in this lonely world
in such trifles

in that we are left
with

I M A G I N A T I O N.

Dearest Artists,

We have gotten stale, my precious ones;
spit out in disgust, tossed into the waste basket.
We are held in such contempt, my grey suns;
sucked through a cornstalk straw, a golden casket.

into the circles of wits
or the satirical twits.

Your faithful student,

Ria Vero Benthil

Ahh, my muse has gone off and left me again...and left me dry. I have no witty, satirical comments for anyone this morning, I am afraid.
A beautiful photo, Ria...I love it, and I have added it to my collection.
And a very thought-provoking piece...especially for someone like me, with the kind of poetry I write. Am I "good enough"??

Interesting allusion here, Ria. I like the possibilities - that we are somehow a huge disappointment to some angry Deity, perhaps, who is ready to toss us aside... Making me ponder - very nicely done!
