Beautiful Me

Beautiful Me

A Poem by Laura Hughes

I'm just me, only me

And that's all I can ever be

I'm not perfect cuz I'm full of flaws

I can say things that may give you pause

But I will always try my best

To be real and honest

Some may judge me, I don't care

I'll just live my life without them there

I try to treat people the way they deserve

I can't say the same for others, oh the nerve

It's alright tho, I can deal

I have too much love for them to steal

My faith, hope and happiness

Just treat me with respect, I will accept nothing less

What you see is what you get

So don't you ever forget

I'm a real woman and always will be

I'm just me, beautiful me...
