Immortal I: Say it Again

Immortal I: Say it Again

A Poem by William E.
"

I wrote this a little more than two years ago...damn. ~ A man trapped in immortality, begging the shade of a lost love for some sort of reaffirmation of her love for him.

"
I love you
Do you love me too?
I loved you long, long ago and far away
A thousand years ago it seems
and it was.
In this life and the last I've loved you
In the future as the past I'll love you.
Do you love me too?
I hope to god you do
If you don't, that's okay
Life goes on
but for me
It might not be, quite so long
I'd give my all to hear, these words from you alone
That you are mine to hold, that you are mine to love
And that you love me too.
~
Do you remember that one September night
A Hundred years ago in Boston.
I do, I remember you and
Your eyes, like a sea that I got lost in.
Just the perfect shade of blue.
I swore to you then, that I'd be forever true
That our love would ever always be positively new.
I told you, I said, that I would die for you.
And you spoke to me
Underneath that tall, hanging, Willow tree.
And your voice, it was
So sweet, so soft, so excellently perfect
So absolutely worth it
To hear the words you said.
