I'm curious because I think there's some deeper meaning in this but I don't quite understand it. I like it because there's something more to it though, it makes it interesting.

Basically it describes the natural growing apart from a group of friends or even family that people often experience. In context, the 'five' refers to a group that are so close that they act as one person, which effectively 'dies' when they split up.
