Notebook

A Poem by L. C. Rhodes
"

A poem about poems, from the notebook in question.

"
The notebook is me,
And I am notebook.

A soul in the pages,
A past in black pen,
How warped is the cover!
How black is my sin!

So lovingly Battered,
So splendidly worn,
How damaged is life!
That, Now, I am born!

This is simple, and true, and pure. It describes the heart of a writer.

Am I the sum of someone's thoughts or the sum of my own? Perhaps I'm something else altogether.

Great lines. I still write in a notebook too.
