Geiger Nelson VI (21)

Billy O'Reilly tried to get up, but the Witch had cast some kind of spell on him. His legs felt like they were no more than runny eggs and he fell every time he tried to get up. He looked behind him and saw as Sally Meyers threw another rock at the Witch and saw her head explode with a burst of skull, skin, brain, and blood. It all sprayed the boy and he felt his lunch come up his throat and onto the Witch's dusty wood floor.
"Please!" Some boy Billy didn't know begged the Witch, but, even as the words were coming out of his mouth, his lips began to roll back, followed by his mouth, and soon, his jaw was pulled apart and the top part of his head, roof of the mouth on, was laying on the floor.
Billy tried to run again, and actually made it to his feet, when he slipped on his own vomit and fell with a crash, breaking several teeth and severing off the tip of his tongue.
Around him, the other children were beginning to be killed by the Witch in horrifying ways and Billy began to cry. What had they done?

Geiger saved his work on the novel and looked out the window. The sun had been replaced by the moon and millions of stars and the sky was full of their majestic light. It had been a beautiful day and he felt incredibly happy. Listening to the radio station's weather forecast, the following week was supposed to be bright, clear, and cool. A perfect start to autumn.
Geiger got up, grabbed a Rowdy Rooster from the fridge, and sat down on the couch, sprawling his feet out onto the coffee table. He'd had an excellent time with Angela Hornsby, who, by the look of her stuff, could beat his a*s in the writing game. She was a sweet, if incredibly shy, gal who seemed to enjoy life sheerly because of literature.
After lunch at 100 Oak Valley's Finest, the two of them had gone next door to the Mary Elizabeth Public Library and Angela had, modestly, shown Geiger what she called 'her hobby'. Her hobby turned out to be a small box full of dozen-page character biographies, maps of fictional towns and territories, and a near-five-hundred page novel written in all sorts of colored inks in several notebooks. Geiger had asked if he could, sometime, take a gander at 'her hobby' and she'd told him he could look at it now if he'd wanted to. She had been due for a Librarians of New England Community meeting in St. Claire, but said he could stay in the library after she'd locked up. Geiger had sat in the back room of the library, reading through dozens of in depth character biographies and had completed almost two hundred pages on the novel by 6:30, when Angela had gotten back and said that she was closing up for the night and that, if he wanted to, he could come back the next day to finish the book.
Now, after a dinner at the Finest, Geiger was tired and thinking about how, if she'd joined the publishing circuit, Angela would have him beat out of the best seller's list easily. He looked up at the clock. 9:30. He got up, turned off the computer and lights in Cabin 1, and headed to the bedroom. He had promised Angela that he'd meet her at the First Church of 100 Oak Valley in Christ's Name at 6:45 in the morning for the pastor's sermon.
