Heaven Lost An Angel Today

Heaven Lost An Angel Today

A Chapter by Joe

Heaven lost an Angel today.

Her name was Adora.

She was 5 foot 9,

Tall and lanky.

Her hair was a dark red that looked dyed

but was completely natural.

Her eyes a sparking green that mystified all.

Adora was a freelance Angel,

Working from Earth in the heart of the city.

She lived and worked from her apartment:

306 G, Green Apartments.

And had a stocked supply of Crunchy-O’s and milk.

Every so often she went out and got Crazy Joe’s Burger House,

Preferring that to McDonald’s or Burger King.

The apartment door opened, it wasn’t locked,

And Anton walked in, calling Adora’s name.

The two were friends, and he was here

To ask if she wanted to go out to dinner.

The truth was

Anton loved Adora.

She made his days brighter

And his nights nicer.

She was perfect.

Anton found the Angel laying on the bed in a pool of blood.

She had cut off her white bird wings with a butcher knife

And feathers lay all around.

She had slit her throat with the same knife and fell to the bed

Dead.

Her golden heart, she had ripped out of her chest

And lain on the dresser beside the bed.

Crying, Anton picked up the heavy golden organ

And felt it flutter,

Barely alive,

In his hand.

He looked at it and heard,

In between him and the heart,

A distant crying.

Was there a chance Adora could be saved?

Wherever she was?

Anton thought so.

And hoped so.

This write is so profound.
An angel, love, death; a beautiful and tragic combination.
I love tragic love.
"Crying, Anton picked up the heavy golden organ
And felt it flutter,
Barely alive,
In his hand.
He looked at it and heard,
In between him and the heart,
A distant crying."

Such an amazing write. I'm going to read the other two now :)

Interesting. I like this. I feel like it could have flowed better, but all in all, it was a very good poem. It seems as though the story of Adora and Anton isn't finished, though....
