Deceit of man!

Deceit of man!

A Poem by Rhine Wolf

Look into my eyes,

What do you see?

Do you see depth?

Or simply nothing.

Listen to the sound of my heart beat

Do you hear it pulsing with life?

Do you feel the vibrations it sends forth?

Or is it as lively as a piece of coal?

Look into my soul,

It is there I swear,

Lost in a turmoil of sorrow

Sorrow bread for the deceit of man!

I think I can identify with this sentiment. The deceit of the human race is enough to make the purest idealist turn cynical and jade out, that much I'm certain of.
