Putty for the molding

Putty for the molding

A Poem by Rhine Wolf

How can a soul be so torn?

Decisions and outside influences.

Like cloaks’ to be worn.

How do we shake them off, without consequences.

How can we control what comes our way?

Matters of the heart and soul in the balance,

What road is the one, who is to say?

How can one avoid the loathing and malice?

So many souls I hold in my hands,

Why is it always the innocent that burn

Decisions, promises, never follow our plans

Trust, confidence and love are so hard to earn

Why do we let them control us?

Play into their hands, like putty to be molded

Bend us, twist us and promise it won’t hurt

And when they done, their master piece is not you!

How do we stand up and say, ENOUGH!

This is me! This is who I am! I am ME!

Where do we draw the strength from,

To shrug of the cloak of our oppressors?

They say the strength will come from within,

How can it?

When that is where the damage was done!

All we are is putty for the molding!

You have a good idea behind this, but the delivery needs some work. Your punctuation is all over the place. It made about half of the lines confusing to me. One stanza didn't have a period is it, and it read as a run-on sentence. I think the punctuation needs to be edited before anything else. After that, a more in-depth critique can occur.

Liked the first three verses, seemed to stray after that, perhaps you went off on a tangent! The point hit home, though, good topic!

Good piece.

The oppressors will be there whether we conform or not, and neither choice is easy.

Although I'm sure I have never experienced the oppression you have.

It is sad but an age old problem we are facing. We are all actually just moldings of everyone's inputs.Taking part of their world for part of yours. none of us are really truly free.
love you always

I hope you find the strength to stand strong and SHOUT OUT "ENOUGH"!! Guess when we are "weak" we do conform to those around us, allow them to influence and change our paths.... once we have taken the time and re-discovered what we need and desire, perhaps with the discovery we find the strength to stand up again the oppressor and heal the hurt and damages done and received?

Writing our way through may be the key. Keep on posting! Good luck!!
