Release and Renewal musings on the beginning of autumnA Story by Rhiannon Dragonraine
The beginning of autumn is upon us and all around us Nature is releasing that which no longer serves its purpose, the trees are letting go of their leaves so that they can conserve their energy during winter. As humans we would do well to follow the example that nature has set for us, and begin to let go of that which is no longer good for us in our lives, before we enter winter’s restful time.
Releasing past hurts and emotional ties, bad habits and anything else that no longer serves our higher purpose is not as easy as it sounds, but it is well worth while to go through the work. When we do this work we not only lighten our load of baggage but we also open up space in our lives for new things to grow.
Nature has given us a blue print and plan as to when to do this work, when we begin to work with the cycles of nature, the natural world adds its energies to the work that we do. Looking at the seasonal influences that surround us we see how we should work. In autumn, we let go of our baggage and outdated modes just as the trees release their leaves to be reused by the world, during winter’s cold we rest, we take this time to recuperate to nurture ourselves in restful quiet of snow covered days and night; letting the pristine snow wash away any residual or lingering negative influences away. Then as Spring comes we look forward we begin to plant the seeds of future outcomes and begin to nurture and work toward new goals, and as summer’s heat begins to hit us we begin to enjoy the harvest of all of our work until we can begin the cycle with releasing once again.
To Release that which no longer serves you, you must start at the beginning by spending some time with your higher self, to begin communicating with your inner divinity through meditation; by doing this we can learn from our inner divine and our spirit allies what it is that we need to let go. Once we have identified what it is that is holding us back, blocking us from moving forward, we can begin to analyze and understand why we have held on to this for so long. When we understand the reasons behind our attachments to these habits, energies or emotional ties we can begin to heal the underlying negativity or wound that needs to be healed and then proceed forward to releasing it back into the universe like brightly colored leaves pulled off tree limbs by the crisp autumn wind.
Being the human creatures that we are, our psyches need a definitive end to situations when working with intangible energies this becomes a little difficult and so to aid us in this we can work banishing rituals on the physical plane to aid our emotional and energy bodies and more importantly our conscious minds into truly seeing the end and release of what we are letting go. Take some time this autumn to craft a ritual of release for yourself in preparation for the coming rest of Winter.
