Midnight Serenade

Midnight Serenade

A Poem by Rhiannon Dragonraine
"

inspiration hits at that stranges times and we see the world clearly through our own eyes.

"

I love the midnight hours
When heads to pillows touch
Gentle breezes sway the dark trees
And lights in houses dim,
Shadows begin to lengthen
In a street lamps glow
Peace and calm descend
Under the diamond-dappled
Blanket of an ebony sky
Darkness brings about the beauty of possibilities
Obscuring the world’s ugliness in patterned shadows on street concrete
Dreams are dreamt and fantasies entertained
The world asleep is peaceful and serene
Oh how I live for the midnight hours;
The solace that transcends with tranquil thoughts
When you feel as if you are the only one aware and by so being
You find you finally belong
The night makes no demands; it simply lets you be
And in that simple gesture it grants you freedom and faith to face another day
Others seek to hide or sleep away this time; the world requires you to ignore it
And though I have fought this battle; it still calls to my soul: Beseeching me to join it once again.
