Embrace the darkness

That entombs you

Sink quietly into the blackness of a crimson rose

Budding at an ancient gravesite

During the hour of midnight

' neath the blood red full moon

Feel the ebony velvet ripples of peace surround you

And drown within it

Fear has no place within the shadows;

Release all that you are, to the sable calm of midnight shadows

Drink in the metallic taste of warm blood

Trickling down your throat

As immense feeling and life

Tingle, sensuously through your previously dead veins

Revel in the dark caress of Raven wings enfolding you

Setting your soul ablaze

Thrusting you upward to burn eternally in the midnight sky

The ghostly specter of the phantom phoenix

excellent images and well written verse. it had a dark feel to it until the end when the light jumps at you and surrounds you with renew and warmth. well done!

what a wonderful work of determination and rebirth. I loved the imagery used in this work - my fav lines were the same as Tania's so, had to pick something else - can't help it, I like to be different lol.

those lines seem to produce such a serene setting, allowing for quiet and deep thoughts. nicely penned!
