It's not my fault...

It's not my fault...

A Poem by Rhianne Ney
"

pushing the blame seems fun

"
It's not my fault,
Don't blame me,
Blame her, blame him, blame them.

I didn't do anything wrong,
Don't hate me,
Hate her, hate him, hate them.

I'm innocent,
Don't judge me,
Judge her, judge him, judge them.

It's not my problem,
Don't include me,
Include her, include him, include them.

I admit it... sometimes I push the blame on others, it makes me feel better but worse at the same time... once I've realized it's wrong

aw...you know what..you sounds like a cute kid right now...well but it's good that you have reaLISED THat it's a bad thing to do...but it's always best to accept our mistake...we can't run away from each it..it will catch us again...accepting our mistakes doesn't mean that we are bad or it's kind of insulting it means that we will make an effort not to do it agaiin!!

I love the repetition in this! I also blame things on others a lot. It's just how we live our lives at times. Don't feel bad when it's just in your nature! Over time, that may change.

I think you have a lovely poem coming direct from the heart; and as a kid when one gets blamed for nothing it truly hurts.

I don't think the human world, overall, is very good at dealing with the causes of behaviour. We tend to like to punish, as if that is going to do something. "You've been bad, so we'll be bad to you." In enough cases for it to be important, this doesn't work. People leave prison and, if anything, have learned more from hanging around criminals and come out with so little that they can do little but continue to be criminals.

So, therefore, I like the message of this poem. It shows that desire to avoid the futility of being punished by blaming others. Perhaps you've done something awful but, in the end, you couldn't have done anything else. Yes, you feel sorry. Yes, you shouldn't have done it. But you can't bear to be punished for something you were always going to do anyway.

I've met people who think that trying to explain the reasons for your poor behaviour and misjudgement is pointless. They just want you to say that you are sorry. I'm not sure if saying sorry isn't just another explanation, another reason, for your behaviour. "I'm sorry," you say, "I apologise. I should not have done it. Do you forgive me?" And behind those words, you are explaining that you did something wrong and stupid and all that can make it better is forgiveness, because you are stupid and wrong.

I say it's time to accept that people have reasons for their behaviour, and saying sorry doesn't necessarily mean those reasons go away and their behaviour will change. Then again, though, I'm a determinist, so I would say that.
