I apologize

I apologize

A Poem by Rhianne Ney
"

being bullied and disliked

"
Sorry if I found out,
I was oblivious at first,
You were calling me names,
And talk behind my back every time.

Sorry if I'm not a person likeable,
I can't change that fast,
And I don't want to change for you,
Because I feel unfair.

Sorry if I displease you,
I cannot be what you want me to be,
I didn't wish to know the truth,
Because I don't want to be hated.

I cry every night,
Wishing that everyone should just accept who I am,
I want to be accepted.

This simple wish,
I know it might not come true,
So, God please help me.

This poem makes me mourn for all those who have been bullied or hurt by all the pathetic people who think they are above everyone else. It's hard to be optimistic when the world is as filthy as it is.
They say keep your friends close and your enemies closer, but I don't agree with that. I'd say keep your values close and God closer.
Deep poem you have here.

Bullying is a very sensitive subject, the people that are being bullied end up blaming themselves for everything that has happened. There are some terrible people in this world. Bullying goes away as you get older, trust me...it gets better :)

continue being you (:
This is all too familiar to me. Tragic but true. A beautiful agony in words, my friend. I've always felt like the odd one out and the "quiet" person with nothing to say. I never get a chance to say what I really want in the real world, and I understand the pessimist take. I'm more of a optimist...I try to be. But this world is full of pathetic challenges and walls you can't scale. I'm resolved to stand and whisper my heart in the shadows. But a lovely piece with raw emotion. You're not alone. :)

thank you (:
In the first stanza you state: 'And talk behind my back every time'. Since this line is connected to the previous line, naturally it'd be in past tense as well, meaning that it should read: 'And talked behind my back every time'. Though, it's free to interpretate the line as a continious action, yet so is the calling of names behind someone's back.

The poem shows you have a great empathy for the less fortunated and use vivid and clear words to express emotions, which makes readers capable of identifying themselves with the poem. I enjoyed your work very much so!

This is heart-breaking! Thank you for sharing such a raw part of yourself with us! This poem is deep and really makes you think how you affect others!
If I may say, accept yourself and others will follow your lead. If you can accept yourself; others can too easily but if you don't, well nothing good can come from that.

hey Rhianne. sweet poem. people always point out our weaknesses so that they can feel superior. they want us to change for them, but not necessarily for our good. although there may be some attitudes you exhibit that your true friends would point out nicely.

lovely poem.
