The Milky Way

The Milky Way

A Poem by Rhia Barton
"

Just something I wrote to try and get back into the swing of writing.

"

A rift in the sky

It tears it in half

A hole to another plane

God’s own trodden path

A crack in a wall

Our window to another place

A plaster over a wound

That has torn space

A scar on skin

A defining mark

Heaven’s archway

The centre of our home

Such ugly words

For such a beautiful thing

Beautiful. It's so hard to capture the gorgeous night sky, but you did it. :) Amazing.

This poem is wonderful in its own deep and dark way. It makes us think about home in a way that many of us have never thought home really is. Because of this I did not agree with the poem my first time reading but then the second time I thought more about the words and found that they are so true. Amazing poem!

Home sweet home.
Well written, great choice of words.
After reading a story of yours,
I'd love seeing your take on this in the form of a story, rather then a poem.

Well it's pretty good. I like how it's structured.
