Busy StreetA Poem by Rhondathe "I" is not meI walk down the busy street in my blue hijab. I feel that I am pleasing my Creator. I glance down the sidewalk accross from mine. I see a young women, just like me. The difference is that she is walking with a top that shows her stomach, along with short-shorts. She struts with the guys chasing after her, looking at every part of her figure. I also walk down these streets, but I get no looks, except for the shocked looks. They're probably all wondering "Why would a women cover her head?" I am not afraid to get shocked looks. People look at me like I am from a different planet. I'm proud to wear the hijab, and I'll never stop wearing it.
