I got this diary for a gift yesterday. Yesterday, I turned 18 years old. Yes, I got it for my birthday like Anne Frank. Except, that my life is nothing like her life was. I'm not Jewish. I'm not in the 1940's. I'm not her age. There are many more things I can list.
My name is Alia Astouf. I was born on September 7, 2002. I'm simply the Princess of Egypt. Sometimes it is complicated. Especially following the the country's rules. How did I become the princess? Well, in about 2012, they started to have kings, queens, princes, and princesses in all of the countries of the world. They picked my family because my father was the president of Egypt. He became the king, my mom the queen, and me the princess. I'm the only child, so there was no picking to do. I guess that's how the economy turned out. The rules are okay. Some of them arent't the best:
1. to become the king, queen, prince, or princess of Egypt, you must be pure Egyptian
2. you must be able to speak at least Arabic and English
3. you must be able to read at least Arabic and English script
4. you must be Muslim
5. you can only marry someone who is pure Egyptian
6. to go in public, you must ride in a limo with body guards
7. you must wear any appropiate dress or an appropiate suit
8. you can never leave the throne unless you don't have any children
9. you must be polite to all of the guests that you meet
10. you must go to the International Royal Family Meet every two years
11. the prince or princess can pick who she wants to marry, but with his or her parents permission
That's mostly it. I've always dreamed of meeting a guy that's from somewhere other than Egypt. That dream probably won't come true.
Daddy tells me to obey all the rules. He said that something bad will happen if we don't. He's never told me what though. He's trying to find a well- behaved Egyptian boy to marry me. There have been four so far that he's brought to the palace. None of them are the "one". I wish that he wouldn't do that. I don't like hurting their feelings by saying no.
I must go, but I'll write tommorrow.

حصلت على هذه اليوميات عن هدية أمس. بالأمس ، والتفت من العمر 18 عاما. نعم ، حصلت عليه لعيد ميلادي مثل آن فرانك. إلا أن حياتي شيئا مثل كانت حياتها. أنا لست يهودية. أنا لست في 1940. أنا لست سنها. هناك أشياء أخرى كثيرة يمكنني قائمة.

6. الذهاب في الأماكن العامة ، يجب أن تركب في ليمو مع حراسه الشخصيين
7. يجب عليك ارتداء أي لباس أو مناسبة تلائم المناسبة
8. أنت لا يمكن أبدا أن يترك العرش إلا إذا لم يكن لديك أي الأطفال
9. يجب أن يكون مهذبا لجميع الضيوف الذين تقابلهم
10. يجب عليك أن تذهب إلى الأسرة الحاكمة الدولية تجتمع مرة كل سنتين
11. أمير أو أميرة يمكن اختيار الذي تريد أن تت�™وج ، ولكن مع والديه إذن
هذا هو الغالب عليه. حلمت دائما من الاجتماع لهذا الرجل من مكان آخر غير مصر. الأرجح أن هذا الحلم لن يتحقق.
بابا يقول لي الانصياع لجميع القواعد. وقال ان هناك شيئا سيئا سيحدث اذا لم نفعل ذلك. انه لم يسبق له أخبرني ماذا لو. انه يحاول العثور على حسن تصرف صبي مصري في ال�™واج مني. كانت هناك أربعة حتى الآن لأنه أحضر الى القصر. لا شيء من هم "واحد". وأتمنى أنه لن يفعل ذلك. أنا لا أحب ايذاء مشاعرهم لا بالقول.
يجب أن أذهب ، ولكن أنا أكتب غدا.
