Waiting at home

Waiting at home

A Poem by Pale Moon
"

When a father leaves for a land called No Man's Land

"

A small wooden house stood by the river,

A small boy and a woman in teens,

Lifting their arms and wave,

For they say their farewell,

Farewell for a man they hold consider a parent and a lover,

Farewell for a man who just left,

Whom they doubt and weep for his return, For a place he goes is No man's land,

A place where fire and smoke resides,

A place where a man be torn to shreds.

Three years passed by,

And the small boy still awaits outside of the house with his mother,

For they plead to God for his return,

Yet...

No news,

No messages,

Only silence.

A story that has unfolded many, many times throughout history. And all they can do is hope for his safe return. Many of course in history did not return. I guess they worked on the premise of no news is good news and it was only when they received a telegram or a knock on the door that their hope would also have died.
