Dark Ages

Dark Ages

A Poem by Pale Moon

Year 150 A.D.,
It started,
Europe,
The Pax Romana had ended,
Barbarians became aggressive,
Sassanids in the east, retaliates,
Horse mounted warriors invades.

Hunger,
Death,
Disease,
People cried to their God and other religions's deities,
For a hand to escape the sword,
They got no answer,
Only silence.

Reminds me how annoyed I was with Hannibal and Robert The Bruce
I used to bury myself in ancient history but my ageing brain has let most of it slip away

Of course haha
Very nice use of words and thoughts. Your words were true. Old world suffered many changes in leadership. Some worst than the others. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You may say, a lot has changed since the dark ages.
A lot of the same things are still happening though.
God still gets mentioned.
