Colosseum

Colosseum

A Poem by Pale Moon

You were a lion,
Born in slavery,
A child of Gaul,
A son of a roman soldier.

You fought in the Colosseum,
You created yourself a name,
You were given a title,
Surviving for years.

Alas, you were in bed,
With your body weary from fighting,
With your life breaking,
You thought of all the fights you endured,
You remembered your fellow men asking you,
"Was it worth it?"

Warrior fight and try to find some kind of peace. I liked the description of the colosseum leading to the proper questions. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

The imageries in the poem are very strong depicting the character and what he stands for in the Colosseum.
For survivals of ancient inhumaneness of slavery and freedom is clearly seen in this work.
