Love Recycles

Love Recycles

A Poem by D Patrick
"

a drive through Connecticut in the winter.

"

                Room to Rest

                Clumps of frozen mud,
                like tiny mountains edging
                the motel’s parking lot,
                steel against the winter dusk.

A gold band lies in dust beside
                a blanched carnation under
the bed. Vestal waters, attest to
                lovemaking on the cotton sheets.

                Westward

The sun nestles under Earth’s frosted
mantle as pine tree ghosts crawl over
                the creamy vista.

Beyond, ice fields, a sterling bridge binds two
powdered banks spanning a paralyzed river.

                There

Giant stumps against the sky like
                Skyscrapers in the valley,

                plenty of room for all,
even crystal forests drooping like rain.

i enjoy this, it's suggestive and sexual but not over the top. it's simple, dreamy, and descriptive...all great qualities of a great poem.

About
I want to exchange reviews of short (1-10 pgs) of screenplays, creative nonfiction, and fiction. I am surprised that I don't see anything about creative nonfiction in this Cafe. I review to learn more.. more..
