Fire Bright

Fire Bright

A Poem by Reverent

You beautiful
You broken rose
You're dressed to kill
But tonight you won't go anywhere
With anyone at all

You're turning off
Your telephone
You leave your friends
And it's alright to cry
And to be scared of God

Because it's all that we know:
To be scared and alone, but don't let it show

Tires take, like reeds they sway
He crashed against the skyline and for
Twenty miles out
You could see the fire bright
