Hello Steven

Hello Steven

A Poem by Reverent

Hello Steven this is your best friend
Wondering where you've been
These circuits and phones take their good time
To reply I hope you're fine

Because I know you're feeling vacant
And quite down upon your luck
And maybe you feel like anyone can save you
But we're just too damn lazy to try

We'll lock you up and barricade and hold you until it's time
To face your demons and your haunted dreams
Even if it kills you
Maybe we can help you get by

Just go easy on the Adderall
And take some time to get your head cleared out
I've got some frames and pictures of when we were young
You were happy once-
I promise you

And who needs chapstick and Valentine's and credit cards
Those lonely girls just leave broken hearts
Do you hurt yourself because those days are gone
When you knew everything there was to know

Mark my words Steven we'll defer
These problems that unmake you and maybe we can help you
Get through the week, I had to leave
But I was waiting by your back door - call me when you finally get home

Even our bodies go
Even those songs we wrote
Even our smiles will go away
After some time

Even our bodies go
Those games of self control
Even our smiles fade away
When we're gone

Steven I hope you notice
We took notice
But we never had the courage
To be sincere

Steven I hope you notice
We took notice
But we never had the words
To help you through your fears.
