Poem my Mother would like

Poem my Mother would like

A Poem by Kenny Bellamy

Small hands, big words

Strong willed blue birds.

Life is for sharing.

Everything we do

We bring in communion

To the dinner table.

Love is a little too much wine,

Laughing like weirdos,

And mild hearts

Held in confidence.

Family is

Constant

As birdsongs

With the dawn.

I always enjoy interesting titles that get me interested in the poem. Right in the beginning I so much liked your start...the alliteration and rhyming- The best line I have read in poems in awhile was "Love is a little too much wine" Life Love, Family each addressed in each stanza...I read this poem several times and wondered if another stanza could have put "Life, Love, Family in the final stanza and thought no the final stanza ended this poem so well...thank you for sharing

So crafty, this is a sculpted piece to ponder, both metaphorical and literal. How nature takes care of its own, the element of love, wine and reactions, such poetic depth and creativity!
