The Perfect CrimeA Poem by Timothy Ryan
We sit on the wooden benches
Waiting to be called Judged for all to see The fans overhead don't help at all We're still sweating the nerves away We rise for the judge We sit so we don't run I look to my lawyer He smiles and gives me a thumbs up That really helps Smile while you bleed my wallet dry F*****g a*****e People approach the stand My eyes approach the floor Then she makes her way down the aisle Flowing blond hair Long enough to hang a mortal man's heart Curves that would leave a man speechless Too lost for words to be a reliable witness The smile of an angel Dangerous enough to kill you with But beautiful enough for you not to care And those eyes Those eyes that could drop you dead with one wink Shatter your soul Ruin your life Take everything from you Leave And still have you missing them afterwords That girl could steal your heart And get away with it too She's the perfect crime © 2016 Timothy RyanReviews
