Dancing

Dancing

A Poem by Renette Hollow

Bodies moving to the beat
Not quite sure where to put my feet
Your arms slipping around me
So dark, I can't really see
But I know that it's you, I can hear
It's your voice singing in my ear
Laughing when you twirl me around
Music so loud you can't hear a sound.
Feeling your lips brush my skin
I can't hide the excitement within
My head, I raise my hands above
I'm with you, and I'm in love.
Light sparkling off my dress
You're holding me, I expected nothing less
Laughing when we don't know what to do
But that's okay, I'm with you
So everything's perfect, it's just right
I don't want it end, this perfect night
If I could, I'd stay here forever
I'd leave your sweet embrace never.
I can feel your hands on my hips
Heat rushes through me when you kiss my lips
I'm so happy, so glad I came
From now on, nothing will be the same
You chose me, I don't know why
I'm simple, awkward, and shy
But you whisper that you love me
Even in the dark my blush you see
You pull me close and hold me tight
Just burst with joy, I might.
Still not sure where to put my feet
With our bodies moving to the beat.
