The Chance to Choose

I wasn't expecting to fall in love with you

It just sorta happened so now what should I do

When we started out together so very strong

And then stayed happy together for so long

To have you back I would pay any cost. 

I still dream about you every single night

It's always the same, you're holding me tight

And then I wake up with tears on my face

Because I want you here with me in this dark place

For you kept all my terror away, all my fears

The joy you inspired in me banished all my tears. 

But now from all sides confusion presses in

Every move I make is quickly dubbed a sin

And tears are always flowing from my eyes

No longer can I tell the difference in truth from lies

Gone from my life you are and with you my light

I don't understand why you left me in this dark night. 

You promised me so many happy dreams

But now I find that in dreams nothing is as it seems

And I keep stumbling and straying from my path

No matter which way I turn now I won't be unscathed

For every choice I have the chance to choose

Someone I love will horribly lose.

Not bad. The rhyme scheme is a little simple but you've used some nice imagery which makes up for it, I think. I think you could drop some of the colloquialisms in this and make it a little more focused, but it's still fairly readable as-is. Good work.
