Isn't that what having the gift of ink is all about? The ability to express one's emotions? It is so much harder to say than it is to ink sometimes... Maybe because we know the page won't talk back? :)
The symbolism in this piece by usage of the paint and the paintbrush guides the reader through the emotions and give us an understanding of what you are feeling....
Actually it's an emotional depressed one!
But that doesn't nessecary mean it's bad... not at all... it's nice and I enjoyed reading it frankly...
And to be honest with you, I believe you could go deeper and I'm sure of it due to others writings done by you...
Just a thought!
Wow wow wow and wow...you have always had such such a GREAT great deal of expressive/descriptive emotional detail when it comes to your writings and that's what I love about reading them, gets me everytime!! I write to get it out and man you so just did that, love it love it! I really love the way you used the paintbrush throughout in different stages and the part of the poem where you wrote "Will You Please Stop Painting?" was the perfect ending. I'm sorry for your pain, I can relate and its not fun being in pain. So keep writing, good therapy and good for us readers!! Hugz, Michelle
Aww, great write Joseph, I see the metaphor expulging in its arrays of colors,
as a painter I never knew how much others visualized my whims and in this case your girl's whim's and conequently your torture, great great write! ---mishel
A tragicly painful piece. I didn't get how this meant what you said it did, but I guess that's what writing is all about. Everybody intreprets things differently. The way it seems to me....lets just say that if there was anyone in the world who cared about the person writing this, they'd stop painting immediately. The piece drips pain and anguish with every word. The last stanza started with a bit of a trip up, but otherwise this is a piece that sticks with you, especially the visuals of the paintbrush. A great piece of work!
You have a beautiful way of showing off your heart and feelings. You didn't go off course with your thoughts. like I do. This was breathtaking, I did'nt want to stop reading. Now I see why people on writer cafe and else where are addicted to your poems and want to read more!
Thanks for letting me be a friend on here and sharing your writings
No reason for apologies, writing is about release! I like the subtle rhyme and the analogies between the color of paint, softness/hardness of the brush and the declination of emotion from warm to dark. A great pen from the hand of God's child.
depressing no... understood by many, yes. you bring the reader into the scene, allowing us to also feel each painted color with you - release is always good for the soul; certainly the main reason i write, as well. your ending is very poignant. excellent penning...XO
I'm no one special. I'm just a single father in the MMA training to kill the anger and the personal pain in order to move on. Whenever I'm not busy, even with the damn procrastination issue, I try my .. more..
