The Runaway Horse

The Runaway Horse

A Poem by Joseph - Michael
"

Sure, you still can tame any of the horses, but you cannot tame their spirits.

"

Too Proud To Take The Stand

Broke Right Through The Gate

Into The Wide Open Green Land

Out In The Search For The Mate

Cowboys Ran Out To Get That Horse

All Prepared To Catch Him With Noose

They Needed Him For The Best Sport

Couldn't Afford For The Prize To Lose

The Wild Horse Just Had Spotted

His Mate On The Other Side Of Farm

Jumped Over The Piles Of Rottens

Toward His Mate Nearby The Barn

No One Couldn't Believe What They Saw

There's A Value Of Love In That Rodeo

Without The Harsh Taste Of The Raw

For That, He Is Now As Known As Romeo

I know, it's a bit too short and fast and the grammars are out of order, so don't mind me.

Aww... this is sweet! You know what's really cool about this? It sounds like an old experienced cowboy is telling this story... as if your poem was a legend! It sounds a bit like a song too! The rhyming is kind of different from your normal couplet style, but it's still absolutely fabulous!

I am totally in love with this storyline of yours! The way you ended it was perfect. :) Outstanding work!

Ironically Yours, Blade and Blood

Being an equestrian and a horseman, I absolutely love how you were inspired by the horse's spirit for this poem...they truly are very instinctually driven animals embodied with what is pure and honest in nature...it was Churchill who said, "the out side of a horse is good for the inside of a man" and he hit it right on the nose when he spoke those words...AUTHENTIC VOICE!

Right out of a movie! The imagery you created reminded me of The Horse Whisperer. I wouldn't change anything.

Great read. JC

nope the pace and technical layout are just fine
and if you deside to fix what you think is wrong with the
grammar let me know about a reread.

Actually, I think the pace of it actually suits the write. It's about horses running free, the the tempo matches it.
Well written. It flows excellantly.
