For In The Name Of My Son

For some strange reasons, I wrote this for my son, Jonathan Matthew, as a Christmas gift of 2007 for him when he was only 2 at that time. But he will read it when he get older.

 

Out Of All Of My Whole Entire Life

I've Never Really Believed In The Miracle At All

Not Even Half Close Enough To Believe In The Light

 

Until The Day You Were Born That Had Left Me Breathless

 

The First Look At You;

The First Smell Of You;

The First Sound From You;

The First Touch On You;

 

Everything About Your First Appearance Had Left Me Speechless

 

That Day You Were Born, You've Became My True Salvation

I've Never Knew That There Are So Much Joy

All From Just Only One Simple Little Boy

I Fell In Love After The Fact That You're Already My Son

 

Whenever You're Around, I've Become So Grateful

You've Given Me So Much Of The Pleasant

As You're My Natual Drug Of Anti-Depressant

The Fact Of Having You As My Son, I'm So Thankful

 

I Don't Know What I Would Do Without You

And I Wouldn't Dare To Think About It For A Moment

Only To Think And Remember About Our Times Together

And To Believe Of What's The Best For You

I Was Never Taught How To Be Your Father

 

Except For You

 

You've Taught Me How To Be Your Father

As Much As I'm Teaching You To Be My Son

I Always Will Be Your Best Friend

 

Yes, I May Be Your Father;

Yet, I Always Will Be Your Teacher

 

Yes, I May Be Your Mentor;

Yet, I Always Will Be Your Protector

 

I Was Once Nobody's Gladiator, But Now I'm Your Protector

I Always Will Be There For You All The Way To The End

 

Only Just For Your Life;

Only Just For Your Love;

Only Just For Your Legacy;

 

Altogether In Order To Build Up Your Own Personal Legend

 

I'll Always Will Be Your Own Personal Gargoyle;

The Perfect Type Of The Kind To Be Your Guardian

And There's Nothing In This World Will Take Us Apart

And Nothing Will Stop The True Beatings Of Our Hearts

touchy, so deeply touchy..you really did pour your heart out my friend and it's really nice to see a father's love testimony to his son. the flow is'nt too smooth(just an unecessary observation :-) ) but the lines add up to a master piece. it has this energy radiating from it that makes one want to go out, call his child,hug him/her and say "i love you"

Very beautiful and noble! I can relate to all you say... That is what we (the ones that love children!) feel... When i was pregnant (the 1st and 2nd time also) i felt like a goddess giving birth to life itself! ... but we have to retreat some time and give "our creations" space to become gods themselves... and to do so they have to smell the earth, to make friends, to... special, BE INDEPENDENT, form their own opinion (different to ours) and even to live us when they think it is time... The best we can do is to show them ALL the time that whenever they need, what ever life brings to them, whatever good or wrong they do, we are there, to hug and talk and give them all we know... We can "copy" the terrible images of the sadistic egoistic jealous gods we invented to "protect" us from the "evil"! We have to grow up and be a much better kind of god, the one we which it could exist! All the children of the world come with ALL the possibilities in them! They are MAGIC! It is "education" that cuts they wings... SO: All the best to you and your unique lovely special magic son!

Your love for your son is powerful and evident through out this poem. It's a beautiful love, a pure love. And you wrote so beautifully about it. It makes me wonder if I'd ever have that sort of love towards my child one day (I lost one a while ago). I think my heart has grown cold. But your poem warmed it again.

I can tell you love your son soooo much and as a Mom of 4 children I can relate, children are God's gift to us and I wish alot of more parents realized that like we do!!!!
