TWILIGHTS DOOR

TWILIGHTS DOOR

A Poem by Rene Velez

I cast down iron eyes
at the soft silhouette of the shore
full moon amongst the sand dunes
and I weep once more
beauty in the darkness
oh stars I do adore
shimmering lights making way
through twilight's door
hands that have been
of hardened skin
can not grasp the floor beneath
words to spit through wretched teeth
praying lines of final release
my body sits in earthly decay
and wait for the waves to wash me away

Indeed, the emotions that lament on each of our minds often come back without cause, well done, good read.
