SILVER HAZE

SILVER HAZE

A Poem by Rene Velez

she floated towards the fields ready for harvest
leaving ruby footprints on earthly clouds
she bowed in lavish gardens asking Jupiters honesty
and I am left in her breath of silver haze
skimming oceans of her odyssey in affectionate ways
her liquid touch grabbing stars from the evening sky
birthing galaxies in her eyes through winds of aspen
caressing her dragons high on a hill as she
laughs happily in her creations, ethereal libations
tasting heavenly realms with every cup I fill
and with the lightest kiss she extends me her gift of
omnipotence as I inhale her air of life
for the very first time...

Your first four lines are powerful. It reminded me of a painting by Jules Breton titled "Song of the Lark" check it out.
