DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL

DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL

A Poem by Rene Velez
"

Written by my daughter Abbey for me, I'm a lucky Dad.

"
As I look out to see
I remember the times on your knee

when it came up to my
biggest fears you came
and wiped away my tears

you always seem to know
when I need a smile
especially when you haven't
seen one in a while

we seem to always be
on the same page
even though there's
a difference in age

we know how to make
each other laugh
and that makes time fly fast

daddy that's why I'm so thankful
for you I would never ask for
anyone new

I love you so very much
because you help me
with all my problems and such

I know you wish to
give me the world but
I'm good with the title
"Daddy's Little Girl"

She definitely has your special gift. I have a daughter the same age, and this is a wonderful reminder that the gift of words has no age limit. Tell her to keep up the wonderful work, and your friends here at the Cafe look forward to more of her writings!

A beautiful poem. Our children give us hope and strength to go forward. I like the complete poem. A very nice ending to a excellent poem.

This just smacks me straight in the heart. I feel the same way about my son that turned 18 yesterday..and wow.. what a feeling. Having children is the best and I'm sure if she's taking after her Father being the best comes easy..xo

I am impressed! Good to see the two of you enjoying your time, living in the moment.
