GHOSTLY

GHOSTLY

A Poem by Rene Velez

Unearth me out of my icy grave
Give me sun for warmth
Grass Beneath my feet
it is what my heart craves
My body to sway like ocean waves
Moments to steal, my spirit to heal
I am what is left of a hollow slave

Yet in moans I sing for home
I dance deaths violent ballets
ghostly tones in flames of Joan,
I stave, I am a soul depraved
Of Loves I have not known

Fingertips bleed with selfish deeds
Upon the cycle I am undone again
I will attend my wounds and ascend
To wander the halls of the condemned

I wish to feel my heart again.
