ZEN

ZEN

A Poem by Rene Velez

My fingers drumming steadily on the table,
I am in a zone of Zen,
clear of mind but not focused,
just a blank stare of oblivion,
my other hand holds a pen...

Likened to a samurai before duel or death
only the now is left to mock the present,
seconds to render it's beauty
at best I engage in my quest

I seek the majestic in my mental plain of creativity
connecting spiritually, the body physically weak in my art,
words possess the strongest form
Here is where I find my heart,
unguided,
I will find my way...

very well chosen words, it actually invites us all to seek a state of serenity before we start writing. The poem is very good, thanks a lot for sharing!!!!!! =)

Nice to find a place to know peace and calm. Zen is a good state to be in. Hard to find the place in the world where the mind can find any rest.

I believe all of us must have a place of happiness. I see my grandchildren. I know I have purpose for a while. Their hopeful eyes give me the strength not to give up. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.

Oooooh. I like this. I love the description you put in this poem. I can easily see myself doing this. Though, that is how I look before I start writing :p
Very good job :)
