IN TRANSIT

IN TRANSIT

A Poem by Rene Velez

Rahway, sun setting, past Metropark station
complacent in the fading suburban Sunday
moving away from my weekend love
red and orange autumn glow between houses
set in rows, smiles and friendly hello's
while in transit...

rails and ties

i search the happiness in her eyes,
her magic and smile cinematic
crossing bridges as water flows
in it's highways of highs and lows
tugboats in tow...

passed the meadowlands close to home
over the marshes and moss covered stones
a new week i start alone, but

in our hearts we are together.

I like how you wrote the scene in this.

An almost playful look at the sometimes thought mundane, you seperate the views thought shared and bring life to them time and time again Rene, as always sending you my love, well written.

awesome. i've lived near train stations before when I lived in the suburbs, i always loved it so. the sounds of the train were soothing, almost like a lullaby each night while dozing off in bed. i live in philadelphia now, and really only take the subway. which is dirty and smelly... i haven't taken the time lately to remember my fond memories of trains in a long time. thanks for rekindling that memory. it's a lovely poem.

Rene Ive been on holidays and after reading this I realised how good your writes are , the way you through observation and capture the texture of your surroundings in every line...

I got the picture of a person leaving, but the parting is just a physical distance. Interesting!

Seems to be having a glitch with reviews today, so if you get two, I do apologise hon lol
Such intensity to your writes, I use one word for them, poignant!

I like the train when I travel in Europe. People were happy. Served beer and booze on the train. I understand this poem. Going to work ain't no fun.
"i search the happiness in her eyes,
her magic and smile cinematic
crossing bridges as water flows
in it's highways of highs and lows
tugboats in tow..."
A good ending to a excellent poem.

You set the journey and time of year so well, ' ..red and orange autumn glow between houses ~ set in rows..', then, glide into the sad, longing romantic mode beautifully, ' ..in our hearts we are together.' Tis a poem that covers space and senses.
