IMMORTALSA Poem by Rene Velez
A MAN WALKS INTO AN OLD DARK
SEEDY PUB IN NEW YORK, HE WALKS TO THE BACK AND JOINS ANOTHER MAN SITTING AT A TABLE: Time: Today, DARIUS: As soon as I turned the corner it hits me like the hottest steam in a Russian sauna, but i thought it could not be, the oldest of friends has come back to me, it has been long my friend... ALEXANDER: Tis' true a surprise what time will unveil but I have changed little I still drink my ale What have you of tales? I have left mine with wooden sails and foolish glories of a Holy Grail... oh what a time the Conquests of Alexander the pillages, the treasures and the laughter and the women of holy law raped and ravaged then turned of common wife to daily w***e. DARIUS: You have not changed my friend the days of glory have come to an end these strange days are hard to man today men rule of pen and not of hand today men move in silence with private plans they fight for money and not of land ALEXANDER: Aye, we have been cursed of days all will go but we must stay we have been written for different ways from all that I've seen these are the darkest days... DARIUS: I must bid you farewell old friend but a gift before I go, kept safe but old and given to me for his life I did defend A Shakespearean Quill so that your past days will never end... THE MAN TURNS AND WALKS OUT OF THE PUB... © 2015 Rene VelezAuthor's Note
