THINGS

I am unbalanced by things,
like clouds in a blue sky,
Or by the way a bird sings,
I am amazed by the simplicity of things,
Like chimes fastened on strings,
By the smell of a rose and how it's beauty stings,
I believe in many things,
Each man an equal and not one a king
A child smiling on a swing,
the joy and happiness it brings
I am very private about things,
like my relationships,

fleeting wedding rings
or how the balance of love swings
I am open minded about things

like the puppets strings,

and the sadness poverty brings

I am conscious of many things...

You know how sometimes you can read something and you "hear" the person actually saying the words even though you have never seen or actually heard the person? I "heard" what I imagine is your voice on this one, that's when I know I have come across a great piece of writing because it seeps in and I can feel it, hear it, relate to it. Amazing :)

I love this! The flow is nice like a gentle breeze. The sense of recollection and seeing the beauty around us is expressed very beautifully.

A very well-written poem! I liked how most of your lines rhymed, but it was seemless enough that I didn't even realize it until I looked really closely. That is difficult to do, at least in my opinion. I also liked how you moved from one line to the next, how everything somehow fit together with each other even though they didn't relate by themselves.
