MY HAND ACHES

MY HAND ACHES

A Poem by Rene Velez

I took them off,
like old work clothes
with global stains,

I may have been bias,
my best in artistry,
sharing things I
thought about,
and from experiences,
I've learned lessons,

I took them off,
and on one knee
I have witnessed
a generation degrade,
stifled, with so much time
lost, like autumn, seeds
will never grow,

was I born too early?
or born too late?
help,
is only a four letter word,
and one, no one is willing
to use

I took them off
because my hand ache,
and I'm tired of writing
...writing with no voice.

Whoa. This is some powerful writing. The thoughts are punchy and the scene is also set by the sights unseen...much like the fog of war.
