MINIMAL SCREENS

MINIMAL SCREENS

A Poem by Rene Velez

They left the room,
distracted by screens
and the important neeed
to be there, wishful thinking
from the older generation,

the next will never see
the old paths, the strength
for a human cause,
or running in the Sun,
the way children did
in the past, until they
were out of breath,
kids today, the champion
of chairs, of make believe,

and when there is
no more grass to touch,
they'll touch their
minimal screens,
regretting later, when they
look up and see the f*****g
world for what it really is.
