FATHER'S DAY #2A Poem by Rene Velez
You can't make it up,
the love your kids have for you, I was touched on father's day, I don't know if other countries celebrate the day, As a Father I cherish it, It means to me, that I did my best, even the mess of having my trials trying to provide, I never ran, I didn't hide from my responsibility, sometimes an impossibility, but strived out of love, above all else, without wealth, I found the ability, some stability, with calloused hands and worn leather gloves, even when I was intimidated, even humiliated, I held my head high, because my children relied on me, a struggle and I made it, today I am appreciated, and their love for me, happily amplified. © 2019 Rene Velez |
