SANCTUARY

SANCTUARY

A Poem by Rene Velez

Everything falls
and nothing remains,
after a time,
pillars of nations,
spires fallen to fire,
creation reclaims,
after a time,

what's in the eye
as centuries
is only temporary,

soil and dust,
spoil and rust,
we, solely
fragmentary,

even in breath
never whole,
what is the soul?
when we are our own
worst adversaries,

nothing just...
but slowly,
what was once holy,
now, only
a burnt sanctuary.

I like this one, as I like you. I chose to read you based off your name. You are awesome, in your own way.

I like the reality of this one. Robert Frost said that nothing gold can stay. How right he was.

Izanagi threw his soul away to help humanity. These are things that flash through my mind as I read this.

You may not believe this, but did we know each other in a past life?

"Do you feel the same?"

She'd always say that to me. It made me believe in forgiveness. The heretic sorceress Sympatha was hated because...she was right. The angels cried blood when she died. Still do.

I encourage you to write you heart out and petition me for strength. I'm 35...but not useless. You're my star right now, a powerful trump from the tarot, indeed.
